At the recently concluded live webinar “Reimagining Port Dickson Tourism”, Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) was given the opportunity to be represented by its Director-General, Dato’ Dr. Mohmed Razip Haji Hasan, who addressed the audience about the potential of Islamic Tourism and sustainable tourism in Port Dickson. A royal town or Bandar Diraja is a unique feature that only nine states — Selangor, Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Negri Sembilan, Johor, Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu — that practise a monarchial system of government have. This is opposed to the gubernatorial system used in Malaysia’s Borneo states (Sabah and Sarawak) and Straits states (Penang and Melaka), where their respective ceremonial head of state is the Governor, also known as Yang di-Pertua Negeri.

ITC GROOMING THE NEXT GENERATION TO UPHOLD SUSTAINABLE ISLAMIC TOURISM DEVELOPMENT

The young generation is the key to revitalising the tourism industry and driving the Islamic Tourism concept forward. This was the main message conveyed by  Dato’ Dr. Mohmed Razip Haji Hasan, Director-General of Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) in the online talk show, #ApaKhabarTourism, hosted by Datuk Azlie Halim, Founder of Santai Travel. Held on 26 July 2021, the show was organised in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Kelantan and saw a significant number of its tourism students from the Hospitality, Tourism and Wellness Faculty among the online audience.
