Nor Ainon is a Malaysian citizen who has lived in the UK for 15 years. During this time she developed an interest in English baking, and adopted many of her recipes from a popular restaurant in the South of England called ‘Honeybees’.
On Returning to Malaysia, Nor Ainon noticed that Malaysians had acquired a taste for international cuisine. She also noticed many people coming from different countries to live and work in Malaysia. She wanted to share the baking skills she had acquired in UK; so at the beginning of the new millennium, she started her own business called ‘Ainon’s Cakes & Pastries.’
In 2005, after gaining experience from several catering operations, Nor Ainon and her sister, Farah, opened a canteen in the International Islamic School selling European cuisine. Two years on, they have established a good reputation with the staff and students for the tasty food, friendly service and hygiene.
The philosophy behind Nor Ainon’s business is simple – she wants everyone to enjoy the best of European baking and cooking using the finest ingredients, yet at a reasonable price.
